Rally Thursday, March Saturday

Help Retirees

Thursday, October 20, 2 PM, join the Texas Alliance fror Retired Americans planning meeting at UFCW 540 hall, 11041 Garland Rd in Dallas. We continue to work on protecting working and retired people from the Super Congress, headed by Rrepresentative Jeb Hensarling.

Join us at 10 AM Thursday, October 27, outside Representative Jeb Hensarling's office, 6510 Abrams in Dallas. It's the CoMerica Bank Building. We'll be releasing an important new report on the importance of Social Security.

March for Everybody

Join "Occupation Dallas" at 1 PM Saturday, October 22 at Dallas City Hall (Young at Ervay) for a march to the Federal Reserve Building. I recommend that people bring their own signs and banners, because this is a peoples' march with all kinds of different materials. If your organization stays behind its own banner, then they are advocating what they stand for and not necessarily everything under the sun. Given that, there is no reason to stay out of this important worldwide movement.

Save the Post Office and Jobs

The American Postal Workers Union and supporters will gather in the parking lot behind City Hall at 8:30 AM on Wednesday October 26. They will make a presentation to the City Council meeting that begins at 9. Postal workers are trying to save the main Dallas post office and several neighborhood post offices. They have an extensive program that needs a lot of volunteers. Call Jennifer Fulbright at 214-631-3162. Thousands of jobs and your postal service are at stake.
MoveOn Dallas is planning important events on November 5th and 17th. Their planning meeting will probably be on October 27 at 6PM, but check with them to be sure. To doublecheck on any event, see our web site at http://www.labordallas.org.

Plan Actions with MoveOn

Oct 25, 6:45P: MoveOn meets at Postal Workers local 732 hall, 2010 Postal Way. It's just north of the westbound Hiway 30 service road at the Hampton exit. They will be planning actions for Nov 5 and Nov 17.

Signing off the Air

The postal workers will be my guest on KNON, 89.3 FM and www.knon.org this Monday October 26. It will likely be my last broadcast because I have been forced to resign because of my heavy load of volunteer work and responsibilities. Thanks to all who supported me over this last 9 years and thanks especially to those who listened.
