Dallas Protestors: "Save Our Courts!"

Protestors came from all over North Texas. Very few of them seemed to know anybody else. At first, it seemed that nobody had any idea how to form a picket line, or even how to avoid problems with the police for blocking traffic.

Those who led off the picket seemed in a great hurry, and they rushed over a broad distance virtually alone. But the problem of disciplined picketing was solved in an odd and wonderful manner. An older couple were unable to keep up, but they doggedly continued picketing. They slowed everyone down, and people were too polite to pass them by. Thus a very decent picket line was formed.

We created many new activists, and several new leaders during the Move On rally in front of the Dallas Federal Building.

Hardly any of us knew Leslie Hamilton before she organized the rally. So that we would be able to find her, she wore a long burgundy scarf. Even though she had little previous experience with this kind of action, she took firm charge of the event. She made sure that all of the selected speakers took their turns and did not take advantage to push personal agendas. We were in the best of hands!

We accomplished a great deal at our big Dallas rally, and we will surely accomplish more!
