The NALC nationally is approaching 1M pounds of food from their drive. In North Texas Local Union #132 NALC, they got 130,000 lbs. President Mickey Morris says that the City of Dallas increased 8%, but the outlying areas were up 53%!
The site is "syndicated" so that both the local and the national
organizations can post information. Although Dallas is first, every AFL-CIO
council in America will soon share this very efficient format. People can also
sign up for labor's news blurbs. The Dallas AFL-CIO Labor Day Breakfast will
fall on September 1 this year. Jobs with Justice usually makes an effort to
bring labor's many allies to this event to share the celebration.
